The band has been so successful in recent years, especially with their thriving learners, Bret Set Go, section that we have outgrown our rehearsal room in School Lane. So we are aiming to build a new band room in the village to ensure we can continue to flourish for the next 100 years! The first stage will be to look for a suitable piece of land big enough for a substantial building and parking and to start a building fund to raise the £200,000 that will be needed. We have set up a Just Giving Page where people can make donations towards this project, you can find this on www.justgiving.com and search for Bretforton Silver Band. If you have any ideas or advice for us about finding a piece of land or fundraising please do not hesitate to contact Laura.

news and performances
In light of the most recent national guidance, sadly but understandably, Bretforton Silver Band has had to take the decision to cancel all their events for the foreseeable future due to public health concerns linked to the Coronavirus epidemic.
The band have been guided by recommendations made by the Government and Public Health England regarding social and mass gatherings and the recommendations of Brass Band England the regulatory body for brass bands. All members of the band will be very sad not to perform at their regular engagements but the health and safety of players and supporters has to come first.
During the restrictions we have recorded a special piece to mark the VE day 75 anniversary and also held a virtual Proms. We are now putting together some virtual Christmas pieces. We are still 'virtually' meeting up every week on a Thursday, John Wood has run a quiz every single week!
The band would like to thank you for your patience and understanding through this challenging time and rest assured as soon as it is safe to do so the band will be back.
In the meantime – everyone involved with the band hopes you are all safe and well. Looking forward to seeing you all again as soon as possible!
